Course Instructor Accreditation Rubric
Here is a rubric for qualifying an instructor to be a member of the Course Creators Association:
- Expertise in Subject Matter (30 points)
- The instructor should possess a high level of expertise and knowledge in the subject matter they teach.
- The instructor should be able to demonstrate their knowledge through their credentials, experience, and/or published work.
- The instructor should be up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in their field.
- Teaching Experience (25 points)
- The instructor should have a track record of successful teaching and student engagement.
- The instructor should be able to demonstrate their effectiveness as a teacher through student feedback, evaluations, and/or reviews.
- The instructor should have experience teaching diverse groups of learners and adapting their teaching methods to meet different learning needs.
- Course Design and Development (20 points)
- The instructor should be able to demonstrate their ability to design and develop high-quality courses that meet the needs of their target audience.
- The instructor should use effective instructional design principles and methods to engage learners and facilitate their learning.
- The instructor should be able to use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles and preferences.
- Professionalism (15 points)
- The instructor should conduct themselves in a professional manner in all interactions with learners, colleagues, and partners.
- The instructor should adhere to ethical standards and principles of conduct in their teaching and professional activities.
- The instructor should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
- Communication and Collaboration (10 points)
- The instructor should be able to communicate effectively with learners and colleagues, using clear and concise language.
- The instructor should be able to collaborate with other instructors and professionals to achieve common goals.
- The instructor should be open to feedback and willing to work collaboratively to improve their teaching and course design.
Total Points: 100
To be qualified as a member of the Course Creators Association, an instructor must score at least 70 points and meet all five criteria. The Course Creators Association will review all applications for membership on a case-by-case basis to ensure that each instructor meets the highest standards of professionalism, expertise, and effectiveness in teaching and course design.
