Rubric for Course Approval

Here is a rubric for assessing whether a course should be accredited by the Course Creators Association:

1. Learning Outcomes (30 points)
  • The course should have clear and measurable learning outcomes that align with the needs of the target audience.
  • The course should use appropriate assessment methods to evaluate the learners’ mastery of the learning outcomes.
  • The learning outcomes should be relevant, timely, and applicable to the real world.
2. Instructional Design (25 points)
  • The course should demonstrate effective instructional design that engages learners and supports their achievement of the learning outcomes.
  • The course should use a variety of teaching methods that align with the content and learning outcomes.
  • The course should provide adequate opportunities for learners to apply what they have learned in a practical setting.
3. Course Content (20 points)
  • The course should contain accurate, current, and relevant content that is appropriate for the target audience.
  • The course should be designed to be engaging, interactive, and interesting to learners.
  • The course should provide learners with access to additional resources and materials that can support their learning.
4. Instructor Qualifications (15 points)
  • The course instructor should possess the necessary qualifications and experience to teach the course content effectively.
  • The instructor should be knowledgeable about the subject matter and be able to answer learners’ questions.
  • The instructor should be able to provide timely feedback to learners and support their learning needs.
5. Learner Support (10 points)
  • The course should provide learners with adequate support throughout their learning journey.
  • The course should provide learners with opportunities to interact with instructors and other learners.
  • The course should provide learners with access to technical support and resources.

Total Points: 100

To be accredited by the Course Creators Association, a course must score at least 70 points and meet all five criteria. The Course Creators Association will review all applications for accreditation on a case-by-case basis to ensure that each course meets the highest standards of quality and effectiveness in course design and delivery.

Rubric for Instructor Approval

Here is a rubric for qualifying an instructor to be a member of the Course Creators Association:

1. Expertise in Subject Matter (30 points)
  • The instructor should possess a high level of expertise and knowledge in the subject matter they teach.
  • The instructor should be able to demonstrate their knowledge through their credentials, experience, and/or published work.
  • The instructor should be up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in their field.
2. Teaching Experience (25 points)
  • The instructor should have a track record of successful teaching and student engagement.
  • The instructor should be able to demonstrate their effectiveness as a teacher through student feedback, evaluations, and/or reviews.
  • The instructor should have experience teaching diverse groups of learners and adapting their teaching methods to meet different learning needs.
3. Course Design and Development (20 points)
  • The instructor should be able to demonstrate their ability to design and develop high-quality courses that meet the needs of their target audience.
  • The instructor should use effective instructional design principles and methods to engage learners and facilitate their learning.
  • The instructor should be able to use a variety of teaching methods to support different learning styles and preferences.
4. Professionalism (15 points)
  • The instructor should conduct themselves in a professional manner in all interactions with learners, colleagues, and partners.
  • The instructor should adhere to ethical standards and principles of conduct in their teaching and professional activities.
  • The instructor should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
5. Communication and Collaboration (10 points)
  • The instructor should be able to communicate effectively with learners and colleagues, using clear and concise language.
  • The instructor should be able to collaborate with other instructors and professionals to achieve common goals.
  • The instructor should be open to feedback and willing to work collaboratively to improve their teaching and course design.

Total Points: 100

To be qualified as a member of the Course Creators Association, an instructor must score at least 70 points and meet all five criteria. The Course Creators Association will review all applications for membership on a case-by-case basis to ensure that each instructor meets the highest standards of professionalism, expertise, and effectiveness in teaching and course design.
